Why is there now no option to close present tab only when clicking on X. The old (default) warning was excellent. With no warning, clicking the X kills Firefox - and all open tabs. This has lost me hours of work already. i certainly don't want to go down the route of restoring all tabs first. I can't rely on it, for instance, holding all comments made on a form. And for that matter, I wouldn't want that to reinstate a login.

Please can we return to the warning with 2 options Close all tabs and Close current tab only.

You only close all tabs (i.e. close the current window) if you click the X that is part of the window controls on the Title bar or Menu bar or the close X at the far right end of the Tab bar if the Menu bar is hidden as well and the window control are moved to the Tab bar. To close a specific tab, you need to click the close X on that tab or alternatively middle click the tab with the mouse wheel. This has always been the case there hasn't been recent changes to this behavior as far as I know, so do not get confused. You may have changed which of the toolbars are visible.
