Ok, I get it. Flash will be abandoned in 15 months time. Who can actually do something about this? The developers of sites that use flash. So why am I being punished? Why do I need to click 3 times additionally for something I have exactly zero, zip, null, no influence over whatsoever? Speaking about user friendliness, this is NOT it. Apart from downgrading or reverting to another browser that has not implemented this ridiculous anti-user-friendiness measure, what can I do?

As someone who uses a website that still uses Flash, you are in the best position to pressure that website to switch to modern technology. That's what I would suggest.

Flash is inherently insecure, and the drive to kill it off is being driven by the company that made flash themselves.

You should never downgrade your browser to use an ancient technology

Hello Sandra,

In addition to Tyler Downer's reply :

On sites that still use Flash, you can now enable Flash per session for a certain amount of time (you will have to keep the session open though) :

Type in the address bar about:config and press Enter (promise to be careful, if asked)

Type in the search bar and look for the preference :

plugin.sessionPermissionNow.intervalInMinutes and set its value to e.g. 1440

Then close and restart Firefox.

Also see this bug report :

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1581664

I don't think that you'll find a browser that is more user-friendly .....

Sites that still use Flash have been warned about the end-of-life for Flash (by Adobe, the company behind Flash) back in 2017, and had (and still have) ample time to switch to HTML5.

armorgames, kongregate, sites who are massively dependent on the developers. I can't pressure those sites. Besides, Ancient teechnology is DOS. Ever opened a command prompt on windows? It's still there. Sorry mate, this is not a good enough reason to cause me carpal tunnel syndrome. No, i've downgraded to 68.2 "allow and remember".

Armor Games : In this thread one of the developers suggests to use a portable Firefox version for those games that still depend on Flash :

Kongregate : They already switched a lot of games to HTML5, and here is a list :

I am having problems getting Adobe flash drive to work. After about an hour, I got the stupid thing installed (I think} on chrome. I have spent another hour tying to install Flash in firefox. My susposedly Istalled flash on firefox, it still does not talk to xfinity (my computer and tv carrier). I guess that means that firefox installation of adobe flash did not work. Also, I had an expert to install xfinity on firefox and he had to do this with xfinity tech support. For several months, I had good tv on xfinity in firefox program. Again, originally, without adobe flash, it worked. Now whenever I log in to xfinity to try to get tv it still won't let me me get into tv unless I download newest Adobe flash. In other words, I still can't open my tv. After spending most of the afternoon working on this issue and getting nowhere, I have wasted the precious time I don't have to deal with this issue that is still not resolved. I think the on line instructions I got from installation site were horrible, and so were the firefox instructions. And I don't know how to talk to a real person to deal with this, not even when they could text me on the computer and have a conversation in real time. I am one unhappy customer, and until this problem gets resolved, if ever, I will let the people that I know what a terrible experience I had trying to download adobe flash in my firefox program. Since xfinity is the only cable provider in my area, I am stuck with it and when I share xfinity woes with a friend, I will mention this issue. I am angry and frustrated and I would like you to get a real person to help me. Please contact me after 8 pm Pacific Time or instructions on when and how to get a real person to help me.
