I have been using Thunderbird 52.9 to access my university's email service (which uses outlook / exchange) without problems. This week, Thunderbird automatically update from 52.9 to 60.0 and suddenly I cannot access my university's email anymore. This is happening both in windows and linux machines, and does not happen with other email accounts I have on thunderbird. I downgraded one of the thunderbird installations to 38 and suddenly I can access my university's email again. I need one of two solutions: 1) Get thunderbird 52.9 back or 2) (Preferred) get TB 60.2 to work with outlook based email services.

Is IMAP enabled or were you using an add-on to access the exchange server?

I was using IMAP, the basic provided by thunderdbird. No addon to access the server. The only add-on I needed was the Ericsson's exchange add-on for the calendar. Now I just get asked for my password over and over and no luck in connecting to the server

Is IMAP still enabled on the server? There was someone else in this forum in the last week or so saying their university (I don'r know which) had disabled IMAP for "Security reasons".

Yes, IMAP is still enabled. I removed thunderbird 60.2 and manually installed TB 52.9 and I got access to the email server again. The same happened when I downgraded TB 60.2 to the ubuntu stable version of TB 38 (which, unfortunately is the latest available for ubuntu before TB 60). This is why I think it is an issue with TB 60

I would be more inclined to think the issue is SSL/TLS. What is the server name and port you use?
