Thunderbird keeps freezing while writing emails for about 5 seconds every few seconds. How do I fix this?
It makes writing/ editing emails very difficult.
I've tried all suggestions I've found online - starting safe mode - deleting .msf files - turning off add-ons
Any help appreciated.

Can anybody help with this? I don't want to have to change mail clients but it is impossible to write emails.
Am I posting this in the right site? It doesn't seem there is anyway to contact mozilla, and I don't seem to be getting any advice from this support forum. Is that because there is no solution or no one knows how to fix this? I hope someone can help
Thank you
Why does no one in all of Mozilla support have any suggestions? Even one suggestion would be great. Thank you
This is a user supported forum, so you won't always get support from someone at Mozilla.
However, it sounds like your problem is not from Thunderbird, but from a potential hardware or software issue. It could be a failing hard drive or some other software you are using that is filtering the response before writing to the drive. It really is hard to say without further information.
You should supply more information about your OS, other software running (like AV, etc) and hardware to expect further assistance.
Start your computer in Safe mode with networking and see if it works better.
Hi and thank you for replying.
Running Thunderbird 52.6.0 (64-bit)
@Airmail, I tried the safemode with networking, no change.
@DaCoob, I've tried it with all other software running, still no change.
