hello, please go through the steps covered in Websites look wrong or appear differently than they should.
Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.
- View > Zoom > Reset (Ctrl+0 (zero); Command+0 on Mac)
Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.
- Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
Note that these settings affect background images.

can you guys go to any eBay auction page and look at it with your Firefox....WHICH VIEW DO YOU SEE ? THE OPERA VIEW OR MY FIREFOX VIEW ? if it looks like opera with yours let me know....i have windows vista 64 bit vista with 27.0.1 Firefox....opera 19 ..and latest chrome version...i have latest java, flash etc..everything it up to date
I have Windows 7 x64 and I get the same display as you, comparing Firefox and Chrome. In Firefox, eBay is presenting an "accordion" control, while in Chrome it is just tossing the data onto the page. I really have no idea why.
Is the problem that you want all of these to be displayed fully open all the time? You can hack the page using a custom style rule. I'm not sure what else this might affect, since I was only looking at that section of one page, but the idea is that whenever there are multiple sections of an accordion designated with the attribute accindex, they should all be forced to be visible rather than hidden. An example rule is:
@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml); @-moz-document domain("ebay.com") { div[accindex] {display:block !important;} }
It can be applied using either the Stylish extension or a userContent.css file. I have attached a screen shot showing the effect in Stylish.
I'm sure there are more sophisticated ways to fix it up, but I haven't researched what others may have been posting out on the web.
thanks for letting me know it wasn't just me seeing the change by Firefox....its over my head what you are telling me to do unless you give step by step instructions how to do it..
are you talking about going to about:config page and setting something from true to false ? if yes, i can do that if you give me instructions ...
i also having big problems with Firefox new download library changes i clicked clear history by mistake and lost all my downloads list.....how do i get it back....? also how can i get downloads to be as it was before change..
- 1 highlight in blue the file after right click on drop down on item in list open containing folder..
- 2 be able to go to download link like before..as it is new way now cant go there .
- 3 the clear download history button on top & too easy to click on list should have a secondary ask permission warning pop up box not just let you accidentally click and entire list gone...""""popup are you sure you want to delete entire history """
Hi victimofmozilla, on the eBay change, forcing them all open isn't available with a built-in setting, you need to apply style rules to the page. How often do you need to expand the boxes? Not sure it's worth it if you aren't doing it frequently.
Regarding the download list, there is no undo for deleting history.
Windows may have made copies of your places.sqlite database file (the file that stores bookmarks and history) in restore points it creates automatically when certain events occur, such as Windows updates. Because reverting to an old places database will roll back any new bookmarks and history you have saved, you definitely should save a backup of your current database in case something goes wrong before trying this. Please note that there is no way to merge the old and new history (at least not without some SQLite database tools that I've never used).
To locate and back up your active places.sqlite database:
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Leave that window open, activate a Firefox window and Exit Firefox
Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then scroll down to places.sqlite and make a copy in a safe place (e.g., Documents). While you're at it, make a copy of the entire bookmarkbackups folder, too.
(Note: if Windows does not show file extensions such as .js, .txt, .sqlite, you can turn off hiding of file extensions to work with file names more accurately. See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/865219.)
Next, right-click places.sqlite (in your profile folder, not the backup), choose Properties, then the Previous Versions tab. More info: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Previous-versions-of-files-frequently-asked-questions
If you are able to restore an older version, you can start Firefox and try the Library dialog to see whether you can find what you're looking for.
To restore your current database, exit out of Firefox and copy your backup in place of the restored places.sqlite file.
I will let someone else address the 3 features you mentioned at the end.
Do you have AdBlock Plus or any of the ad-blocking add-ons? If so, that may be what is causing the problem.
There's just something about eBay that makes these add-ons think the entire website is an advertisement and so they're just trying to do their job and block everything "ad-related".
If you disable your AdBlock Plus or whatever it is just for ebay, you should see it go back to normal.
