I Only use Thunderbird mail pogram.
Hi there! I totally understand the frustration you're facing with the "email link" not working from the toolbar. It seems like a common issue that can happen after updates. To get it up and running again, let's try this: Open Thunderbird (your preferred email program) if it's not already running. Then, go to the "Tools" menu in Thunderbird and select "Options" or "Account Settings." Look for the "Default App" or "Applications" section and make sure Thunderbird is set as the default email client. Once that's done, try clicking "email link" in Firefox's toolbar again. Hopefully, this should fix the problem and let you easily email links again.
Hi Demon, as the first step, could you double-check your "mailto" setting on the Firefox Settings page? Normally, it is set to something like "Use system default app" but you also can choose "Always ask" so that Firefox shows a short list of known options to choose among. See:
Change the program used to open email links
Does that make any difference or reveal any confusion?

Hi Guys,
None of that worked. I am a bit of a Geek so have tried these steps several times previously.
I just noted, that when Thunderbird is Not opened, the Email Link Opens a separate email !
However, when Thunderbird is Open the Link won't work. There has always been a kind of blink on the Firefox page, as it attempts to perform the task, but it does Not open an Email.

An email window in Thunderbird, or in some other app?
How (what command-line) are you starting Thunderbird ? Are you using the -no-remote switch ?
Yes, it Opens a Thunderbird email when the program in Not opened. However, when Thunderbird is already open it Still wont open a separate email.
I have noticed that when I innately open Thunderbird, it opens a popup Windows that asks if I want Thunderbird to change settings on this computer. That usually only happens only once, after a Thunderbird Update, but it Now asks every time.
I have Thunderbird set as the Default Email program in WIN-10.
I have started Thunderbird in Trouble shooting mode & turned off Add-ons, to No avail.

I use the Thunderbird Logo on the Start menu.
Don't know what the -no-remote switch is.
Check that Thunderbird isn't set to run as Administrator.
You can open the Properties of the Thunderbird desktop shortcut via the right-click context menu and check the "Compatibility" tab.
Make sure all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
- Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
- "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected

I have look at that, None of those options are selected. Is there another methods to fixing this problem ?
As it is funny that if Thunderbird is Not opened (Closed), the "Email link" works as it opens an new email window ! But when the Program is open, it Fails to open a New email window.

No idea what "-no-remote switch ?" means !
Is that a Command line instruction ?
Yes, that is a command-line option. Some general info about Mozilla applications on this page, I assume some also apply to Thunderbird (maybe try thunderbird.exe -help).
I can go into Firefox Applications Choose how Firefox handles the files and go to mailto and make it send the Email Link it too another Program, that is Not a Mail program & it works.
But when I set it back to Send to Thunderbird, it still won't work.
