Hello,

Email from a site where I'm a registered user is being sent to Junk folder. I have right clicked them and marked them as Not Junk. They are returned to the Inbox, and then within 3 seconds they are sent to Junk again. Even if I send a copy to Inbox, it gets sent into Junk. I have also added the sender addresses to my address book. Nothing works.

Thanks for your attention!

Isaiah

I have created a filter for all emails from this domain and set it to run before junk controls. Still this mail is going to Junk. Then I created another filter for another domain and discovered that filters are not working at all. If I manually command it to run filters it doesn't move the mail.

I have reset all adaptive training data. I have even turned adaptive junk filtering off entirely. Nothing works!

I've been a big fan of Thunderbird, but what is going on? Is anyone even reading this?

What version of Thunderbird?

Who is your email provider?

What is the account type - POP or IMAP?

Version 102.3.0 (32 bit) Email provider is whoever provides for GoDaddy. Account type is IMAP.

I should mention, after rebooting of Thunderbird the the junk filtering has stopped. I have adaptive filtering turned off for now. The reset of adaptive data did not work, but turning it off altogether did work.

The main problem is still persisting. If I right click in the Junk folder and mark a mail as Not Junk it is sent to the Inbox. But, seconds later it gets sent back into Junk.

Thanks for your attention.

This sounds odd. The only thing I still can think of is the spam filter on the server. Have you tried to mark messages 'As Not Junk' on the server via webmail?

Now even mail from very old contacts is being sent to Junk. Thunderbird suddenly thinks people I've been mailing back and forth for years belong in Junk! Someone PLEASE help me stop this.

Please do something on your godaddy web mail to fix this. This is not something that is happening in Thunderbird, despite you seeing the email in Thunderbird. As you so succinctly pointed out you have junk mail controls turned off. So Thunderbird has nothing to do with this.

Thunderbird is faithfully replicating (as should happen with IMAP) the spam filtering that is happening will be happening on the server. Here is a godaddy link to get you started. https://au.godaddy.com/help/use-spam-filter-settings-2832

Note also that is you have an antivirus that scans you mail and purports to protect you from spam or scams that in is more than capable of completely messing up as well. Usually through a malfunctioning toolbar or buttons it has inserted in Thunderbird.

Spam Assassin is running on the server, but this is not new. Basically all mail gets filtered with ***SPAM*** at the front of the Subject line. Server configuration is the same as it has always been. Thunderbird has been working fine for years.

I could turn Spam Assassin off and see what happens.

You are right. Spam Assassin has been set to level 8, rather than level 5 as before. I would rather let the Junk filtering happen in Thunderbird. I don't use webmail for these accounts.

Thank you for the replies, both of you! Sorry if I was ranting a bit. Relieved to know Thunderbird is working fine, because it is one software that just works for me. It does not get in my way or throw tantrums.
