Word count of web page
I can't figure out how to get a word count of a web page. The problem: an academic website offers a tremendously long work in five parts--so lengthy I can't copy&paste into Word without getting error messages. The only extension FF has for getting a word (or character) count is Count Me Up, but you have to paste text into a little box. Shouldn't word count be a FF tool? BTW Chrome too doesn't seem to know about any word count extensions.

You only need to copy/paste into Word to get the word count?
The author of Count me up also has a Chrome version. When I look at the screenshots on the Chrome store listing, it appears you can get a count of the selected text using the right-click context menu:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/count-me-up-word-and-char/gniejkbdlpcgfmgmfbnldfjmijmklacl
So here in Firefox you could try "Select All" -- Ctrl+A -- and then right-click to see whether the extension can handle that many words.
Does that work?

Thanks! In FF I did a Select All for one part of that paper and a right click then offered a menu with the answer: "30993 Words - 151000 Characters." It's curious that FF Help doesn't offer this tip. The search results for "word count" offer nothing along that line.
