Hello!

Firefox crashes mostly when opening a new tab but also sometimes randomly when nothing special is happening. It never did it in safe mode so far. I use the default theme so no problem on this side. I tried while my extensions where disabled, it still happened (but way less often and after a while). I then tried with the hardware acceleration disabled and it also still happened (but same after a while and less).

Any ideas?

Thanks!

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted/Unsubmitted Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

Update Avast. If the problem continues, disable it.

Thanks! I did it, it seemed to work and then it crashed again after a while. The situation seems to be better, it seems it does not crash as often but still happening. Also 99% of those crashes do not generate a crash report... It just freezes and stops quickly.

Oh and the Avast extension is disabled.

Hello!

So I tried with Avast disabled. Still happened... Can it be link with the memory or something like this?

If you have this on your system, disable it.

OpenSC is a set of software tools and libraries to work with smart cards

Do you mean if I have OpenSC I should disable it? I do not have this software. By the way yesterday evening after it crashed again I had a system message saying :

"Firefox.exe - Application Error

The instruction at 0x00007FFDA818D5AC referenced memory at 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF... The memory could not be read.

Clik OK to terminate the program"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?
