Cannot step up oauth2 authentication in Thunderbird 68.4.1, Linux Mint 19.3
I have 4 accounts set up in Thunderbird, no issues (2 pure gmail, 1 Google gsuite account (the problem account), and 1 hotmail). I am trying to set up the gsuite email account that I was assigned that uses the Google gsuite. This works in Windows 10, but in this email client on Linux Mint, the authentication options do not include oauth2.
Any thoughts?

There is a bug where OAuth2 is not shown in the authentication drop-down in the account setup window, but if you click Advanced config., OAuth2 is available for authentication under Server Settings. This is on Windows, but I can't speak for Mint.
This applies to IMAP accounts. To use OAuth with gmail POP accounts, you will have to update to TB 68.5.

My question is specifically about Linux Mint, and sfhowes provides me an answer for Windows and says he/she can't speak to the Mint issue. Why the hell did you bother responding!!!!

With a response like that, you hardly deserve a reply, but I mentioned the bug with setting the authentication in the setup window because the workaround on Windows is valid for Linux or OS X. OAuth2 is automatically applied for gmail.com addresses, but any other addresses, including g-suite ones, see the bug.
First, sorry for being an ass in the earlier email. I had spent way too much time in getting this account setup in TB.
I was able to use your Google support link you provided to get this fixed. The issue was the person who setup the account never enabled IMAP.
Done, fixed. Have a great weekend.
I have a problem with the settings on my new computer, I cannot set up Thunderbird. It is Ubuntu Mate. Even though I have new settings. It still cannot find .teribury.net or ctc.net. I am working off my old computer. And I don't understand where OAuth2 that lets you make an exception. If anyone knows what to do. I can be contacted at [email protected]
