I would like to insert into the body of an email a PDF (as you would an image). Is this possible? Microsoft allows this with the option to insert an Object....FYI.

The short answer is no.

The long answer is the Microsoft mail product is only decipherable in outlook. Objects are not a part of the internet mail standard and are not interpreted outside of the Microsoft product that created them. Some might add the garbage as an attachment. others like Thunderbird try using addons to interpret the Microsoft proprietary TNEF file that is send with the Microsoft email. But objects are not interpreted without a lot of garbage, if at all.

I do all the time.

Open the PDF in Acrobat Adobe Reader DC (it's free downloadable).

Under Edit... Copy to Clipboard.

Than can be pasted into the body of an email in Thunderbird. I then grab the edges and make it bigger.

I find PDF are fuzzier than Doc files. I haven't figured out why yet. But it's true when I include it online in a website too. But not when I print it or look at it in the Adobe Reader. If it convert it to a jpg, it's crisp again.
