The issue appeared after uninstalling Firefox 47 and installing the latest version 57. We're not able to start at all Firefox. On startup I get "The application had a problem and crashed. Unfortunately, the crash reported is unable to submit a report for this crash. Details: The application didn't leave an application data file".

Tried with safe mode - No result. Tried removing mozilla folder in %Appdata% and %localAppdata% - No result. (Basically with another account also doesn't work) Tried removing leftovers from "Program Files" & "Program Files (x86)" and re-installing it. - No result. Tried with Offline Installer - No result. The issue occures with 64 and 32 bit version.

If I install it on another machine where Firefox hasn't existed before - it works. But I need it on this specific machine. Screenshot attached.

Can someone advise on this? What is this application data file and where should be located?

Best regards,

This the best way to uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Hi, Just tried it with no luck. (Disk cleanup plus removing the folders with two restarts and the Offline installer). Actually there were no leftover folders. I also tried installing back the 47 version (which works) and online upgrading to 57 - Same result.

I'm able to update 47.0 to 47.0.2, but everything above crashes on startup. OS Windows 10 1607.

Best regards,

You should have got it all except the registry entries.

So installing 42 again then uninstall it and then installing 57 does not work. I think your telling me. Did you use the link I provided in my 1st message to install from ? If not do so, please. I can not make recommendations about registry or CCleaner or anything like that to remove what maybe left over. I will say we need to be careful in any steps taking.

Oh.....Is a Must..Update your Video Card Drivers. You would be amazed at what having old and or corrupted drivers can cause.

Hi, Yes, I did use the link you provided ( the offline installer). The video driver is owned by Citrix and it's up to date. I tested an upgrade with same driver on another machine and it works, so the issue must be related to the image.

Best regards,
