hi codera, could you please test if that issue is resolved when you switch to the latest beta version of firefox 45 which is available through www.mozilla.org/beta ?
You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.
You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.
You can check for issues caused by plugins.
- set plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the about:addons page (3-bar button/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins)
- plugins are not affected by Firefox Safe Mode
