I wish to increase font size and/or make the font bold so I can read them better for the address bar in particular but also for tab headings, the menu bar and bookmarks bar. Is this possible?

Thanks

I don't believe that there is a setting for this in Firefox yet. However, you can install the Make Address Bar Font Size Bigger addon on your version of Firefox to adjust the font size for the address bar.

Let us know if this works for you.

The add-on worked very well for the address bar which was my main concern. Thanks very much.

You can look at this extension to adjust the font size in the user interface.

You can set a global Zoom that affects both the user interface and web pages (this modifies the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref). You can do this via the Options/Preferences of the extension (about:addons or the Tools menu).
