I have been having this problem for a while now, and it has persisted through firefox updates. I actually get 2 types of hangs when loading up a big page sometimes (4chan catalogue or something with a lot of javascript like https://albiononline.com/en/)

The first type of hang is that firefox just locks up, I can't change any tabs or do anything in firefox.

The second type of hang, my whole computer just freezes, I can't even move my mouse on the screen. This type of freeze typically lasts from 30 seconds to 2 minutes.

These freezes are not consistent, they happen randomly (I can't just keep opening 4chan catalogue and make it freeze over and over), the only thing they have in common that I have seen is that they normally happen on loading a large page.

Yes, that is a long web page, with very big pictures as well. https://albiononline.com/en/

See if this helps; This is not a cure, but could let the web page load without crashing.

Flash block {web link} Never be annoyed by a Flash animation again! Blocks Flash so it won't get in your way, but if you want to see it, just click on it

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Do you have any crash reports?

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it and select Submit.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.

I already have flash set to "ask to activate" and about:crashes does not have any logged crashes since june of this year. These freezes do not crash firefox, they merely cause it or the computer to hang.

I remember reading somewhere that a computer driver could be causing this but it was a theory on a tech forum I don't know if the user ever found out what the real problem was.

I clicked all the crash reports in case the problem actually stems from something that happened 5 months ago.
