Firefox 38.0.5 OS X Yosemite 10.10.3

Played some music on youtube. Quit youtube, shut down. Come back 2 hours later start Firefox music still playing. That was yesterday. Since then I've disabled every extension and plug-in shut down the laptop completely and signed out of my youtube account. Open Firefox - Music still playing.

I'm getting ready to uninstall Firefox completely but I'm open to suggestions first.

The issue is actually with Shockwave Flash Player. Sometimes Flash Player stays running even after Firefox has been closed. I would try uninstalling flash player.

YouTube should work in HTML5 mode without flash player. I suggest trying out the web without flash player and then only install flash player if it seems like you really need it. These days most sites work fine without flash.
