Firefox crashes
Okay. A few days ago, I suddenly began having issues with Firefox crashing every time I try to save any sort of file. It doesn't matter the type - image, file, etc.
I have tried everything I can find in the forums and troubleshooting sections.
I started Firefox in safe mode. Still crashed. I reset it. Still crashed. I rolled back to an earlier version. Still crashed. I deleted Firefox and did a clean install. Still crashed. I have checked for updates on all the plugins/add-ons/extensions. Still crashed. I updated my graphics drivers. Still crashed.
I can't even include a link to the most recent crash report because every time it crashes, I get a message that Firefox had a problem submitting the crash report. I'm out of ideas at this point. I have a lot of extensions installed and enabled, but even fresh from the new reinstall, before I added any of them back, the browser would crash whenever I tried to save anything.
Please help!

Well, I really appreciate all the efforts to help me. I tried multiple times and methods to track down the specific issue with no success. Finally, it occurred to me to try a system reset to a restore point from several days ago - before the issue began. I honestly didn't expect it to work, but it did. Firefox is stable for me once again, and I've had no issues saving files. I really wish I knew what caused the problem, since I'd like to make sure to avoid it happening again in the future, but at least it's working as it should now. I'll be a bit more conscientious about adding restore points before making ANY changes in the future, just in case.
Again, thank you both for your efforts.

Hello winsomebulldog,
boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) and then see if that helps.
hey, definitely you have a lot of extensions !!! 110 extensions !!!!
EDIT : sorry wrong link above for your win 8, the correct is the next Windows Safe mode with network support for win 8 : select in the Startup Settings screen > Enable Safe Mode with Networking
thank you

In the address bar, type about:crashes. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers, click it and select Submit.
Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.
Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.
FredMcD,
Here you go.

Signature shell32.dll shell32.dll is a library which contains Windows Shell API functions, which are used when opening web pages and files.

Important: Some malware disguises itself as SHELL32.dll, particularly when not located in the C:\Windows\System32 folder. Therefore, you should check the SHELL32.dll process on your PC to see if it is a threat
One of the reports shows;
Process Type plugin Shockwave Flash Version:15.0.0.152
but also points to shell32.dll Don't worry about this for now.
lpxpcom.dll is also flagged, but there is no information on this.
Information found https://www.google.com/search?q=lpxpcom.dll&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls={moz:distributionID}:{moz:locale}:{moz:official}
It may be part of Last Pass.

The system reset would remove anything added after the bookmark, Yes? Something you added after may be the cause of your problem. Now and then, check the programs listed in the computer. Sort them by date to make it easier. If you see something you don't know, use a web search.
It’s very sad, but many of the software down-loaders / installers will trick you into installing not only their program, but other programs as well. You have heard of the fine print in shady contracts, right? Well, some installers you need to look at the itsy bitsy teeny weeny fine print. You are thinking you are giving the installer permission to install the program you want by using the recommended option. But if you use the Manual Option Instead, you discover all kinds of stuff that you do not even know what it is or what it does. From now on, everyone needs to Use The Manual Option to put a stop to this.
