With the latest update I can't minimize an open window by double clicking. I want to minimize one window into the dock, not hide all open windows.
I'm a Mac user, updated to 30.0. Now when I double click to minimize the window into the dock, instead of minimizing the particular open window I'm in I get a new tab. I can't find any way to simply minimize the specific window, only to hide all of Firefox. I don't want to hide it, I want only to show in the dock that the window is available not not open on the desktop at this time.

Your suggestions didn't exactly help (thanks for trying so promptly though) except that in trying them out I looked under the Menu Bar "Window" pulldown and there it was: Minimize -->Command M. It does exactly what I want, minimizing the window I'm in to the dock, where it sits with the icon reminding me that it's there. Thanks for your help.

Hmm, this is different on Windows: double-clicking the title bar maximizes or restores (makes resizable) the window. So apologies if the following is not relevant.
Does it help if you display either the menu bar or the title bar at the top of the window above the tab bar? You can turn those on using any of these methods:
Menu Bar
- right-click a blank area of the tab bar
- right-click the "+" button on the tab bar
- "3-bar" menu button > Customize > Show/Hide Toolbars
Title Bar
- "3-bar" menu button > Customize > Title Bar
