I'll tell you what I told the other guy. Firefox 4 and 5 are the same thing. Go back to 3.6 instead.

thank you...this has solved my problem with the firefox freeze...
you can use version 3.6... here is the link: Firefox 3.6 (The last good version of Firefox)
