I'm using discord in a browser window and firefox has 2 icons appear at the top of my screen to show that a microphone is active. How do I get rid of these?

more options

The reason I'm not using the discord app is because there are some other shennanigans going on and I lose sound with it for no reason but it doesn't seem to happen with the browser version. The mic icon shows because I've given permission to that site to use the mic.

There is no built-in way to remove that icon.

You can use a custom style rule in a userChrome.css file to hide it or to make it more transparent. I haven't experimented with this myself, but here are a couple resources if you want to give it a try:

I hope it helps.

Hi rawrifficus, When you click on the padlock icon at the left end of the address bar, you can change the permission(s) for that site. This will create an exception in your Options -> Permissions. When you want to change it back, click on the icon on the address bar or remove the exception.

Here's an article: How to manage your camera and microphone permissions with Firefox

which can help with other questions, too.

Oh I apologize I wasn't clear in my request. I was wondering if it's possible to remove them while still having the microphone active?
