One day my Thunderbird email stopped allowing me to send emails. Click on "write" and send a test email. Get this message "Login to server smtpout.secureserver.net with username [email protected] failed. Tried "enter new password" and entered my password and still failed. Checked outgoing server for this address and everything appears to be correct. Tried changing password - didn't work; tried deleting password - didn't work. When I cancel the request for passord, I get the following message: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Could not get password for smtpout.secureserver.net. The message was not sent."

Tried various changes and powering down etc. Nothing works.

I would guess your issue may well be your anti virus to diagnose try the following:

If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.
