An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.4.6 <email address>: Recipient address rejected: Email Sending Quota Exceeded.

Please check the message recipient "email address" and try again.

My wife's computer has stopped sending emails following a reject from a group mailing which has worked previously. Now it seems to block all outgoing email addresses, single addresses or multiple addresses. If it is being blocked, what is blocking it?

The error is from your email provider. It states you sent more than your quota of messages. I suggest you discuss your sending limits with the provider.

I will try what you suggest Thanks

I have checked, my provider is not blocking email nor is it over quota. Could it be Thunderbird puts temporary block on email addresses if large number or recipients selected, I understand this can happen to stop spammers who hack your email? I am not sure what limit is on Thunderbird?

The error says the "mail server". Thunderbird does not have servers, your provider does. Thunderbird does not have limits or block messages. Tell your provider nice try to deflect the blame.

Thanks I wonder if it is Windows defender? I am baffled.
