I just lost my sent emails from 1/2015 to present after I did a repair folder on my sent file. HELP
I had been getting a message during compacting folders that read "Sent Folder could not be compacted because writing to folder failed." I had 13,000 messages in the folder and deleted a few thousand. Did not help. Then I went to the sent file , properties and hit repair folder. Now only messages from 2013 and 2014 are in the "sent" file. I really need to get the current or last two years back. What can I do?

try another repair. All it does is read the mail in the file and list it into the index. But if something is stopping that process, which the error message you report indicates they a partial index is possible.
What anti virus are you using? That is the most common system thing that blocks access to the folders when Thunderbird is trying to use them
