Thunderbird: Changed a directory setting and it all went away...
So my C Drive was screaming at me about being full, And Thunderbird was yelling at me about not having space to download emails to, which confused me because its loaded on my D Drive... So i was putzing around with the local folders settings since it seemed to me to be controlling where emails were being downloaded to and changed it to a D Drive location...
Good News i was able to DL my emails again.... Bad News 3-4 years worth of emails went Poof along with all of my Filters and Sub Folders...
And now i cant find the original C Drive location to try and export/Import stuff to the D Drive... heck i'll settle for finding it so i can delete it all and free up so C Drive Space
Feeling alot less tech savie then i did a few days ago

You are correct in reasoning that the ini file must stay on c:
Did you change "IsRelative"? Did you change the / to \?

"…emails went Poof…"
Of course they did. You told Thunderbird to look somewhere else.
Try moving your whole profile to the bigger disk with more space.

Moving individual mail stores is usually more trouble than it is worth.

First off... Thanks Zenos for the help
So I used that link to find my profile and and my old local folder setting... Its all there minus whats in the new place
but i'm having trouble moving the profile to my D Drive...
I Started by backing up both the C profile Location and the .ini file that the link says to edit
I then placed another profile copy to the new D Drive location. I opened the .ini file which was still on the C (?) since the link said nothing about moving the other clutter just the profile folder and Edited it to the new Path=D:/.../xxxxxx.default
Thunderbird couldn't find a profile to open and just shut off...
I then dragged and dropped the backup back over the modified .ini (yay for Backup!) and it went back to working so at least that's there for me

no i did not when i cut and pasted the location into the .Ini the directions where the same as what was there... I'll try that when i get home and let you know
So i did the exact same thing i did last time but changed isrelative=1 to 0 and it worked
Thinking im going to keep the clean profile but my old one is off the C and i know where it is if i need it
Thanks Again Zenos
