I added a new IMAP account and there is no "sent" folder. I sent a TEST to myself which shows up in webmail but there are no sent items in T-bird.
I created a new IMAP account, as instructed in the POP3 to IMAP conversion tutorial, and renamed my old POP# account. The new account has no sent folder and takes forever to download email.

Matt, thanks for your help. The folder was unsubscribed. Once I read your post, I right clicked it and subscribed it, now things appear to be working as expected.

what mail provider?
Right click the account and select subscribe. Is the sent folder subscribed?
