problem transferring URL

I use my Firefox browser to create my business newsletter. Once I have published the completed newsletter on Firefox, I copy the URL and paste it into my mailing service (Mailchimp). I have been doing this successfully for at least a decade. Recently, however, I have been unsuccessful, and Mailchimp tells me that it must be a problem with the Firefox URL.

Please help me. This is an important part of my business marketing.

When you publish your newsletter, do you see the URL in Firefox's address bar? If you copy/paste that URL to a tab in Safari and press Return to load it, does it work?

No. This still does not work. I get a message from Mail Chimp that the URL could not be loaded and that "the content of this URL will be imported on send time. learn more Press r to reload from URL." I have no idea what "send time" means.

So I still cannot send my newsletter as I have been able to do for over a decade. There must be something wrong at your end with the format for the URL that it cannot be cut and pasted into a mailing service format. Please continue to check this out for me.

My newsletter is a prime marketing tool for me, especially with a new book coming out this Fall. Please help me.

Hi Susan, I'm not sure many support volunteers on this forum would be familiar with the steps you are describing. Let's start with the first one:

I use my Firefox browser to create my business newsletter. Once I have published the completed newsletter on Firefox, I copy the URL...

How do you compose your newsletter and how do you copy the URL of the newsletter link? Is this all within the MailChimp service, or is there a different service involved?

Also, meanwhile, maybe you can use another browser for this process until the disconnect is resolved.

Also, more generally, one method to suss out an issue with settings or add-ons is:

New Profile Test

This takes about 3 minutes, plus the time to test your problem site(s).

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

Take a quick glance at the page and make a mental note of which Profile has this notation: This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted. That is your current default profile.

Click the "Create a New Profile" button, then click Next. Assign a name like Test2022, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.

Firefox will switch your default profile to the new one, so click the Set as Default Profile button for your regular one to avoid an unwanted surprise at your next startup.

Scroll down to Test2022 and click its Launch profile in new browser button.

Firefox should open a new window that looks like a brand new, uncustomized installation. (Your existing Firefox window(s) should not be affected.) Please ignore any tabs enticing you to connect to a Sync account or to activate extensions found on your system to get a clean test.

If you go to your newsletter compose site and try to grab the link from here, does it look any different from the link you were getting in your regular profile?

When you are done with the experiment, you can close the extra window without affecting your regular Firefox profile. (Test2022 will remain available for future testing.)
