Which Firefox version are you referring to that is causing this issue?

The current release is still Firefox 55.0.3.

  • Help -> About Firefox

Note that legacy extensions will stop working in Firefox 57 that only allows WebExtension.

I don't want firefox with web extension. It's breaking the best features of firefox, Is there a legacy repository where I can avoid being forced into this mess?

basically my home browser has already updated which broke most appearance plugins. Extremely upset about that. Now my work browser wants me to restart firefox to update, how can I stop that update? I've already when into the options menu and told it to never look for updates, but it's already caught the update, and needs to restart to apply it. Desperately seeking help to stop this update!

Sorry, answering my own question here. Here is the repository of older firefox versions for anyone else not wanting to migrate into the new webExtensions ecosystem. This won't be a permanent solution though, as security flaws will only increase with time. It's a shame firefox is killing off the best part of the browser, really making me question if I'll stay with ff or migrate to chrome.

Might be time to move on from Firefox, I've been a long time supporter, even donated a few times. But this mess is beyond irritating. I'm closing my browser and reopening it to restore due to this shonky update. I don't think I'll keep doing it much longer, Chrome is calling my name
