CONNECTION NOT SECURE
When I click on the "!" symbol next to the address bar as I am searching for different retailers, i.e., Kohls, Joanns Fabrics, etc., it says "connection not secure." I do not know what this means. As a matter of fact, I have signed up at Kohls, Joanns, etc. to get their "sales alerts" many times, however, I do not receive them. Could this "connection" thing have something to do with it? I sign up almost every day and nothing happens.

The 'i' button that you see at the left end of the location/address bar is the Control Center 'i' button that shows the state of the current connection if you click it. If you connect via an open HTTP connection then it shows that your connection is not secure. Only if a secure HTTPS connection is used you see a message that there is a secure connection.
Note that not all web server have a certificate installed that allows a secure connection.
How do I change it to make the connection secure? Maybe that would solve the problem of not getting computer generated sales alerts.
What kind of alerts do you get?
Can you attach a screenshot?

- use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
- make sure you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB
Firefox hides the http:// protocol on the location/address bar, so you can type https:// in front of the URL like you see on this forum page and check if that gives a secure connection.
I can't send you a screenshot because I have nothing to send since I am not getting those computer generated sales alerts from various retailers like I used to get. I think it is some kind of a "glitch" in the system. I typed https://www.kohls.com in the address bar, then I clicked on the "!" symbol and the connection not secure popped up again. A sales alert is when you give various retailers your email address so they can let you know about daily specials, etc.
