Options, Advanced, General, check "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page"
soundwave Thank you for your post.
I have always had this setting enabled and see the warnings on the redirects all the time because I am right there at that page as it happens.
I suspect many of the crashes I've experienced while watching full screen videos on other tabs are caused by resources taken by the reloads whose warnings I NEVER see. (The crashes are probably an Adobe Flash problem and not the actual reason I started this discussion.)
Here is an example never seeing a reload warning... Just now, while typing this reply, I saw the reload "icon spinning" on the pinned tab on which I have the site http://drudgereport.com/ ... there is no warning waiting for me to acknowledge the page is requesting a reload.
I would like to see a "reload warning" waiting for me to acknowledge the page requesting the reload.
Could it be I do not see the warning is that I have this site Bookmarked? Are the reload warnings timed? Any more help would very much be appreciated.
Many news sites are constantly reloading their pages, so much so that it gets near impossible to read a story. I suppose the reason is to score more hits. There was a somewhat helpful fix in reached in about:config, but I can't find it to verify. Mozilla Search Support results are everything but what is in the question. "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page" doesn't seem to work.

Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.
