Hey, I recently updated Firefox to the latest version (w/private browsing). I checked out the new private browsing feature, decided I wasn't going to use it, then went back to normal. But now I can't seem to clear my history any more, even though I'm just in normal browser mode. I tried restarting several times and then clearing history, but it doesn't do anything, I can click 'clear history' but it's still showing.

Help appreciated, thanks.

There is a note on the Better Privacy page about a problem:

Sorry, BetterPrivacy currently is incompatible with FF 42. We are working on a fix. Please disable on FF 42 - otherwise please disable this option: 'Prevent the Firefox.....'. until a fix is available. Thank you!

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/betterprivacy/

If Better Privacy doesn't generate a toolbar button, you can check for that option on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then on the right side, find Better Privacy and look for an Options button next to the Enable/Disable button.

Can you get it partially working?

Hi, I found out what the problem may have been. I had an add-on called 'Better Privacy' which protects against cookies and when I disabled it, I could clear history once again.

I'd still like this add-on though, is there any way to have this add-on and not have it cause conflicts with the newest Firefox update?

Thanks, now I know that they are just having problems, I will probably just wait for the fix instead. Help appreciated!
