hello snowballthecat, yes you can enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named browser.newtabpage.columns / browser.newtabpage.rows. double-click them and change their vlaues accordingly.

thanks guys. i did both. now, is it possible to have more than one page of tiled shortcuts ? i have changed the rows and columns, but can i flip to another new tab page where i could have more rows/columns ? this is because i need categorized pages each one for tiles of a different subject.

lastly, how can i make it so when i click on a box it opens the link in a new tab instead of overriding the tiles page ? i couldn't do this in tab options.

Firefox will show all tiles on one page and make the tiles smaller to make them fit.
You can search for an extension that allows more pages.

You can force a link to open in a new tab with the -new-tab command line switch.

You can override how external links are opened via the browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external pref.

The meaning of the values of browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external are the same as for browser.link.open_newwindow

  • 1: current tab; 2:new window; 3:new tab;
