Hi,

I a looking for an addon to make searches without typing. I used an addon named fastestfox, but its tracking my searches. I want :

highlight a text -> rightclick -> select searchengine from context-submenu.

I want also make many different searchoptions, f.ex: openstreetmaps or ebay.

It takes me a lot of time to open a new tab, go to the site and paste the text :)

By default, your right-click context menu will include

Search [currently selected search engine] for [selected text]

However, you would need an extension to let you select from multiple search engines on that menu. Have you tried searching on the Add-ons site?

Another option might be to use one or more bookmarklets (scripts saved as "bookmarks" on the Bookmarks Toolbar) to run selected text in a particular search engine. I haven't tried to code that, but it seems possible.

If you download "Add to search bar" 2.2 from the addons site it will allow you to add any site to your Search Bar (not the URL bar, the next one). Whichever search you see displayed (Google, ebay, wikipedia, etc) is the one you will see in the right click context menu.

So you would first choose the site you wanted to search then highlight the text on your page, right click, and you will see an option that says; Search <name of site chosen> for "text you highlighted"

I have been using this addon for years and it's great.
