3.6.26 is working on my OSX 10.4.11 PPC, but it keeps asking me to download the most current version for my system... why?
I've dowloaded and updated 3.6.26, which Firefox stated was the most current version, but when I restart the browser, it then states I'm NOT running the most current version for my system... why? I'm running a Mac PPC G4 10.4.11 Thanks for any assistance you can provide :)

Firefox 3.6.26 is the latest version that will work on Mac Os X 10.4 so you should definitely not try to update Firefox to Firefox 10 (the current version). Ref: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Firefox-not-start#w_firefox-will-not-start-on-os-x-10-4-or-earlier-or-with-a-powerpc-processor
What type of prompt do you see to update Firefox? If you are just talking about the text at the bottom of the Firefox start page at http://www.google.com/firefox just disregard it.

Thanks for the Reply Alice... :) The message is when I restart Firefox, which activates the update, and the 'thanks' page on Firefox's site (not Google)... So, I'm curious why it gives me my most current update, then tells me that there might be a more current version for my system... very strange! Anyway, I'm definitely sticking with 3.6.26, unless I get info that suggests there's a .27 or .28 flying around that may be useful... I will definitely NOT go to 9 or 10.... :)
