Error "Firefox has stopped working" on install
A few weeks ago, Firefox stopped working on my machine. When I tried to launch it I got an error message "Firefox has stopped working". I tried a reinstall and a clean reinstall but both installation procedures fail with the same error.
I'm running Windows 10 64-bit. I am installing with administrative permissions.
There are two files in AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports from the two days that I tried reinstalling. I'm not sure what to do with them.

- InstallTime20201014125134 (from my last attempt, on 10/22)

Try doing this:
Let’s do a full clean re-install;
Note: Firefox comes in three or more folders on all computers. They are;
Maintenance: (Programs Folder) <Windows Only> Firefox itself: (Programs Folder) And two folders in the profile of each user on the computer for each Firefox profile for that user.
If you remove the Firefox folder, the user profiles would not be affected.

Save the file. Then Close Firefox.
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Note: Check Both Folders
Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac
Linux: Check your user manual. If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it. See Install Firefox on Linux; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux
If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory. http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Look for, and remove any Mozilla or Firefox program folders. Do not remove the Mozilla Thunderbird folder if there is one.

If you want to reinstall Firefox, follow the instructions below.
If you just want to remove it, disregard the install instructions.
InstallTime files with a date appended are not crash reports, but are log files that firefox creates when you update. Submitted crash reports would appear in the submitted folder as files with a 'bp-' prefix.

HI,
Sorry for the delay in responding. I was out of the office for a few days.
The full clean re-install did not work.
We suspect that our IT admins have blocked Firefox from working on our machines. Are there any investigative steps I could take to explore that?
Edit: I haven't asked IT directly because Firefox is on the "banned software" list, so I don't see any point.

Ask them.
OK, I asked. The short answer is "We can't configure the security on Firefox."
"Microsoft Edge now brings us back to a place where we can configure the browser the way we want. We realize some things still work in IE and Chrome which is why we still have those. Firefox is not one that we have taken any steps to configure (or those options may not be available) and thus it (along with other browsers) are banned."
Is Firefox is not configurable for an enterprise? That would seem odd... My understanding is that its one of the the most secure browsers available.
