Unable to change passwords
When I follow the instructions to change the password via the options menu, I am unable to continue using thunderbird. I receive an error message that says "Sending of password for user did not succeed. Mail server responded: Authentication failed." The password had been changed via the "edit password" option, but will not accept it as a new password. I had to reset it through lunarpages.

Just delete the password in Options/Security/Passwords/Saved Passwords, restart TB, and enter the new password when prompted. Authentication failure could also mean you have the wrong authentication method in Server Settings (it's usually 'normal password') or the wrong User Name (email address or part before @).
Hi there sfhows, I did that, and it pops up the error message. The username is fine, the server settings are fine. I have to go through our host lunarpages, and that is not going to work with the employees at this business, for security purposes.
If the password and settings are all correct, is there the possibility of a security app or VPN that is causing the failure?
