Tweets embedded on non-Twitter websites (like in articles) are not showing up
Also, sometimes images and videos are not showing up in Tweetdeck.
The embedded tweets and Tweetdeck images and videos show up properly in safe mode, but not in regular mode even with all of the extensions disabled (yes, I'm restarting after to make sure they're disabled). I've also turned off hardware acceleration and restarted and that doesn't fix it, either. My laptop is updated, and all of my drivers are up to date, and so is Firefox and all of the extensions. These problems started after the big-ass update to Firefox 57. I have "refreshed" Firefox and that still didn't fix the issue.

You might also want to rule out Firefox's built-in What happened to Tracking Protection? feature.

Hi Annekl, you don't have to be a developer/programmer to use some parts of the developer tools, but before diving into that, could you post an example of a page where the embedded tweets are only partially styled (i.e., you get the raw text content but not the nice box and graphics) or are completely missing?

Sure, I'll include a screenshot here: https://screenshots.firefox.com/bs8w1qKO5o4b5ju3/anneinpt.wordpress.com
(I hope you can see the screenshot at the link).
Here is another screenshot. This is from Firefox: https://screenshots.firefox.com/m9q9YGzicnNaLOlK/hurryupharry.org
And attached is a screenshot of the same page viewed on Chrome for comparison.
Hi Annekl, in my case, assuming I allow scripts from various sites to run (NoScript blocks them by default), the main issue is Tracking Protection. In the attached comparison, you see the default private window Tracking Protection block being applied on the top half, and what happens when I turn it off on the bottom half (after clicking the shield icon and clicking "Disable protection for this session").
Hi Jscher2000, I don't see any shield icon because I don't have tracking protection enabled at all. That's why I know it's not what is causing this problem.
It is so frustrating!
Hi Annekl, have you encountered any issues loading secure sites, that is, error pages indicating an untrusted connection? I ask that because Firefox needs to load some extra scripts, style sheets, and images to give the improved Twitter widget appearance and that's a possible reason they might be blocked.
For example, any issue getting text dumps for
- https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
- https://platform.twitter.com/css/tweet.2244cdc1aa6afd59d64cc31948a29dca.light.ltr.css
This address should pop up a download dialog (no need to download):

Yes, I get a dialog box (which I didn't click on) but it asks if I want to save or open. Is that the same as a download dialog? I'm presuming that it is.

Hi Annekl, thanks for checking. It sounds as though whatever is causing the problem is not related to being blocked from loading those resources from Twitter. I don't have any new ideas not already mentioned in this thread.

Thank you anyway for all your efforts and suggestions. Maybe at the next Firefox update it will sort itself out.
Now something weird happened. I deleted Firefox completely from my computer and did a restart. Opened Explorer (!) and downloaded Firefox again. It said it detected that I was a previous user and do I want to use my profile. I said no.
So Firefox opened, and lo and behold - my twitter embeds problem was fixed! I can see Twitter. I was so excited. I decided to add extensions one by one carefully to see which if any was causing my problem.
Then suddenly Firefox flickered and boom, it had synced my old profile, without even asking me, and twitter embeds have once again disappeared.
Is there a way to reinstall Firefox with a new user profile? I once deleted my user profile but that didn't help.
OK, please ignore my question above. I have finally solved my problem.
I deleted my Firefox account, then I deleted Firefox off my computer and then deleted all the firefox and mozilla hidden folders.
I then started from scratch and made myself a new user profile.
So far so good (tfu tfu tfu).
I have only added ad-block and speed dial as extension, I'm too scared to add anything else in case it screws up the twitter embeds again. In any event there's enough flexibility in FF that I don't really need any more extensions.
Thank you for all your patience with me.
