My System file shows that I have Vista, but Firefox shows I have Win NT. It takes forever to navigate the net. When I try to log on the net with Firefox it shows Winnt in the search window.

NT is a family of different versions of Windows that began as Windows NT 3.1 in 1993. Vista is version 6.0 of the string of NT versions. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_NT

If you are having problems with slowness, it's not because Firefox uses NT in the user agent string.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

Flash Player Version: 24.0.0.194
