How do I block urls loading in bottom left corner when I visit a target web site like Yahoo.
When I load a web site, like Yahoo for instance, a whole bunch of urls flash by in the bottom left corner of Firefox. All these web addresses slow the actual loading of my target web site, like Yahoo. How can I block this activity and go directly to my target without all these other urls slowing down the loading of my target site?

You would have to block specific website to speed up the page loading.
You can look at a content blocking extension like uBlock Origin extension to block specific content.
- uBlock Origin: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
See also the uBlock Origin documentation.
If you want to hide the messages then look at:
- Status-4-Evar: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/

What you see in that bottom left corner are status messages that show what Firefox is doing. Showing these status messages shouldn't slow down Firefox. If such a message pauses then this means that a server responses slowly.
You can also check the timings in the Network Monitor.
I'm not sure of the terminology here but it appears that Firefox is loading these URLs. Some of these URLs are obviously tracking me as they are outfits with well know URLs that do that sort of thing for advertising purposes. I remember several years ago, about 8 I'm guessing, having some piece of software that I could enter the URL and it would blocked from loading or being processed by Firefox. Using this software dramatically improved the loading time of some web sites like Yahoo or The Arizona Republic for example. I just can't remember what this blocking software was. I think it was a Firefox addon ad blocking tool.

Some popular tracking blockers are: Disconnect, Ghostery, and Privacy Badger. You can find them here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/extensions/
However, your extensions list shows you use Adblock Plus and NoScript, so you already have a powerful toolset for blocking unnecessary content from pages. Have you made lots of exceptions?
Thanks, fellas. I appreciate the guidance. At 67 I need all the help I can get. ;)
Whenever I try to watch a video firefox displays a message which keeps moving from one side of the screen to the other when hovering over and trying to close it. How can I prevent this from happening on any video I watch, it happens on twitter: "sending request to twitter" youtube and other embedded videos. I'm getting tired of it now, nothing seems to work, the tutorials are poorly written and an Status-4-ever addon doesn't work properly. Does anyone have an answer to this problem that actually works?
