I had similar problems (and more) with 49.0.2 so I downgraded back to 48.0.2. Saved site passwords and self-signed certs started working again. I think the latest version needs to go back into the oven...

"Password disappeared ..." Did all your passwords disappear from the Saved Logons panel?

If that is the case try disabling the Saved Password Editor extension and see if your passwords reappear. Version 2.10.1 was released on Oct 12 and since then there has been a number of support threads about "lost passwords", along with mention of the Saved Password Editor extension in a few of those threads.

I'm not saying there is fault with that extension, but "we" need to eliminate it as the potential cause.

I disable the password editor and unfortunately mu user names and passwords do not populate nor do they show in the saved logins area of options. Sync is disabled as well because I was asked to login to it each session.

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.

I cannot save passwords. I am not prompted to tick remember password by Firefox although the save passwords is ticked under security in the options portion. How can I begin to save passwords again?

I created a new profile and selected the appropriate choice to save passwords but no “remember password” does NOT appear when logging into a site. I then downloaded the add-on password editor to see if that would allow me to save login credit ails. When I try to use the password editor I receive the following error message; Got an error: password manager is null Did you try to create a duplicate login entry?

If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory.

Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox program folders by adding .old to them. Do not rename the Mozilla Thunderbird folder if there is one.

After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner if you have one. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.

Hello,

I appreciate your help but have fallen short. I'm more than happy to start fresh with Firefox losing password etc.

Is there any easy way to delete Firefox and begin anew. Previously I deleted FF through the program and features drop down but it doesn't clear the memory after reinstalling FF.
