Thanks you, Tom

Obviously Firefox thinks that I want to have web pages delivered in the language of the region where I live, which is what <i do not want. I type in "www.google.com" and it returns "www.google.se" instead. How do you turn off this annoying feature that loads pages based on the regioan rather than the actual URL that I type in? And my correct e-mail address ( if it is not so) is [email protected]. Thanks you, Tom

Chosen solution

It is not Firefox who thinks that but the owner of websites that have decided to do a reverse look up of your ISP and redirect you automatically in to the site in the local language.

If the Google (Firefox) or Yahoo! home page is in the wrong language then see:

Thanks; your solution via the link worked just fine! Google used to have a link under the Search Window where you could make that switch to the English version, but it no longer seems to be there anymore, at least not when you get the Swedish site.

There is a link at the very bottom on the Google page (www.google.com) to go to Google.com (http://www.google.com/ncr)

The fix is easy. Go to this link on YouTube and watch the video. Although the fix is for I.E., it will work for Fire Fox also. Click on the Fire Fox tab, then click on help. Click on the "Restart with add- ons disabled". Restart your computer. You will have to reinstall your old home page but that is it. After I did this I went into Google and clicked on several links and had no problems. I know this sounds too simple to work, but it does.

The above Youtube link was for Internet Explorer only as changing those settings in IE would Not affect Firefox. Also your so called fixes will not ahem fix this particular redirecting with Google locale based on location anyways in Firefox as what cor-el posted will do just that.
