incorrect date shown in inbox

just installed thunderbird. after it downloaded all of my emails, it showed several very old emails as having arrived today as shown in the screenshot (organized by date).

TB displays the date in the Date header, but I don't see that header in the source you posted, which may explain why today's date is used as a fallback.

If the proper Received date was displayed, I think you would see a consistent set of 'dates':

Thank you for your reply. I do not think that is it in my case. When I add received date, the same date/time is shown. Also, oddly, all emails that showed up as today, are now shown as yesterday. Not sure where TB is getting that date.

Did you add Received to the preference mailnews.customDBHeaders in Config. editor, restart TB, enable the Received column in the Threads Pane, then right-click the folder, Properties, Repair Folder, to re-index the Inbox?
