I have created an extra outlook mailaddress. I tried to add this mailaccount into Thunderbird. I prefer using POP instead of IMAP. With my other mailaddress I have completed the same action without any problems. With my new mailaccount Thunderbird keeps notifying that username or password are incorrect. However, using the same name/password I can succesfully log in my webmail. All other settings are equal to the original mailaccount. When adding the new mailaddress using IMAP it does work, which indicates that the password is correct.

How can I add the new mailaccount to Thunderbird using POP?

It concerns an outlook mail address. Our provider is Ziggo.

I have another Outlook mail address, which does work correctly in Thunderbird. Alle settings are equal. So Ik don't know why one account works and the other one doesn't.

if you are talking about outlook.com mail addresses, did you enable pop in the outlook web settings.

If you are talking about an exchange server hosted by your provider. HAve they enabled POP on the Server. Exchange requires IMAP and POP to be enabled separately.
