I am doing group address books and when I got to 24 I could not add any more

I am new today to Thunderbird, someone else was helping me and export my email addresses to Thunderbird unfortunately they are all messed up and I am trying to make new group address books but while trying it would only accept 24 names??

Please clarify whether you mean address book or mailing list. There is no apparent limit to the former but the latter may be limited by your email provider: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Limits_-_Thunderbird
