The last part of the profile folder listing shows the places.sqlite and places.sqlite-shm and places.sqlite-wal files I mentioned above and these three files need to be removed as they are likely corrupted. As i posted above, best woulds be to rename the bookmarkbackups (bookmarkbackups.old) folder that shows in the first part to prevent Firefox from restoring the bookmarks automatically from a not working backup in the bookmarkbackups.

Are you saying (?) I go to these 3 Files: "places.sqlite" (Right Click to get a Menu and Delete this)? and the same for "places.sqlite-shm" and "places.sqlite-wal" (Files)? I like to be sure what I am to really do without doing the wrong thing.

Yes, you can remove the three files or move them to another folder.

OK! I just moved my "place.sqlite" Folder out and renamed Bookmarkbackups.old and brought my Browser back up and now my Screen Shot shows this (?) Which I don't know where to find my json file?

If you followed my instructions then you have renamed the bookmarkbackups folder, so you need to click the Choose file button and browse to the location of the bookmarkbackups.old folder if you renamed to that file name.

Try to paste this location in the location field:

  • %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

I had to do some other things for the last few days. This was giving me a headache and just wanted to stay away from it, until this morning something else changed. After removing "places-sqlite" I even lost the Addresses I go to, which I didn't lose Prior and put it back to find my sites this way. But this morning I just found out "places-sqlite" got replaced automatically. (After I just found out 2 Hours later as I was again searching for what happen.) It eventually replaced the "places-sqlite" as corrupt with a New one. So I went to my "bookmarksbackups.old and chose a file a week before my ordeal and it looks (From just 30 minutes before now, that I got my Bookmarks) I am in the process of doing some other Back-Ups if I can endure my business of so many other things. I am slow with things and it takes me a lot of time. Maybe just an Hour before, I thought I still had a mess on this, but I might have it solved now (?) I like some Time to know for certain.

These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.

These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backup of files that you choose.

Does my Browser for Bookmarks have away I can make Category Bookmarks? So I can have them under a Category of Topics? What I did have was just one big string of them going down to having 70 or to 100 of them and was having to Scroll endlessly for anything nearly out of order to what I wanted to find. I did some Ordering, but it still ... It was a little bit random of issues for me. And I think what happen last week was I had about 50 Tabs Open and Pausing some youtube videos keeping Adobe Flash Busy and about another time I tired to Bookmark another site. This I guess corrupted "place.q..." file (?) My Laptop is trying to do so much and things get prevented with something else kicking in. I am at the moment trying to limit my Tabs and from doing too much with too much going at one time. Needing to Re-boot to get Fresh Memory also.

You can organize the bookmarks in folders to make it easier to find them.

I Added FEBE and my first attempt to do my Back Up ran into this Problem. What do I do about this? The Problem is in the Picture Image here ...

By the way! I got my Bookmarks back from the "Bookmarksbackup.old" File as performed yesterday morning. When I got this New "place.q..." file in my Profile. So I am doing all I can to Back this Up and I did many Category Files for my Bookmarks and this part is looking good. Just want it to stay and have Back Ups for this now. I was wondering if there is a way to Edit the Folder Names if I didn't like the way I Titled them?
