My laptop running on windows recieved this error message Chrome Browser has detected a new virus.

WARNING! TROJAN (TRJ.DealWare.Stealth) HAS BEEN INJECTED INTO YOUR COMPUTER.

You must call this toll free number 0-808-280-2815 now.

The new trojan (TRJ.DealWare.Stealth) cannot be detected by current virus software. Failure to immediately call the number provided will result in computer failure.

Browser: Firefox Operating System: Windows XP Toll Free Helpline: 0-808-280-2815

PLEASE CALL THE NUMBER PROVIDED TO REMOVE THE VIRUS.

Sounds like Malware - ignore that message and run Anti-Malware scans to locate that garbage.

It would be interesting to know the results of the scans, and whether any damage was done.

Scans vary, some merely display a message or are fake sites. Some do damage only once you interact and follow instructions. Some ransomware lock the browser temporarily, or hate already put malware on the computer by the time you see a message.
