Firefox will not open, period.
Today earlier it was fine but now it will not open. The computer has been restarted a few times and forced to shut down. I have firefox that says it is running on the task manager growing in memory but no web page. I have ended the process a few times and it terminates it on task manager. Then it says firefox plugin stopped working and checking for something so I hit cancel. Twice when I did this it asked me to start firefox in safe mode. I said ok safe mode and it came up but immediately hosed up. The second time I just said restart firefox. So the task manager says it is running but there is nothing on the screen, no window nothing. I have windows vista as well. This is a good browser but what is up? I am not too good with computers so no super technical words when giving me help just tell me what to do. Thanks

By the way when I say the computer shut down, I mean I shut it down thinking it might solve the firefox not opening problem.
Please tell us about your system. Type of computer, Firefox ver . . . .
Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
- Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
- Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Try to start Firefox with the about:blank page by creating a copy of the current Firefox desktop shortcut and add a space and -url "about:blank" to the target field.
