Can you give me your crash reports?

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and paste them into your response here.

Thanks for the really quick response! Much appreciated. Some of your crash reports are archived so it'll take a bit to get them.
........

Looks like your crashes are caused by hardware acceleration.

  • Crash Signature: @ gfxContext::PushClipsToDT(mozilla::gfx::DrawTarget*

Firefox has hardware acceleration set to "on" by default, but it's still young, which means some video cards or drivers might have problems with it. You can try to disable hardware acceleration to see if that alleviates your problems.

You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

Then perform these steps for Firefox version 29.0 and above:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu and select {menu Options} for Windows or {menu Preferences} on Mac or Linux. For Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
  • In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, then select "General".
  • In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
  • Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Thanks, Moses. I have disable HW acceleration for browser itself and flash plugin - will be looking at browser behavior after that.

What made me disappointed that previous version (28.0) could work flawlessly for months [although i should note - RAM usage was growing from 1.5G to 3.5G over that period, while number of windows/tabs was not changing that much], no crashes!

Immediately after update - it crashes once a day :(

I found that after Firefox v29, a LOT of my settings and
add-ons were changed / reset. Try this; Start Firefox in Safe Mode
While you are in safe mode;
Firefox Options > Advanced > General.
Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Then check ALL of your settings. Browser and add-ons. Then restart.

The System Memory Use Percentage in the crash reports is rather high, so this could be out-of-memory crashes.

With HW acceleration disabled (general browser and flash plugin) - still crashes.
