You can look at this blog article:
Thanks for the response - appreciated!
"Mozilla announced yesterday that they sent a stern cease and desist letter to Gamma International"
Well, we can only hope that the letter is effective. Being old and technically illiterate, it's a bit of a worry! :(

Hugh,
We understand your concern, Mozilla is as much a victim as those who may have installed that malicious program. My advice is to start a dialog with a support forum for your Security Suite application pertaining to this type of spyware exploit.
I will endeavor to do that - MSE actually. Thank you for your response. :)

this abc-article is quite exaggerated. nothing what is known about the distribution of finfisher suggests that people where infected by it by intentionally downloading something that they believed to be the firefox program or updates to the program (only once poeple have the malware on the computer it will have similar filenames/describtions as the legitimate firefox browser in order to trick users and firewalls/security software etc).
in any case it is recommended to always use the official site getfirefox.com in order to download the firefox browser & only use the internal updater to perform updates.
Hi Phillipp,
So, when Firefox itself auto updates from within itself, it's ok? (Which is all that I ever do)
Sorry about my lack of knowledge, old bloke here. :(
Regards, Hugh
no problems, in this case you'll be good!
