When attempting to access battle.net on my home computer I keep getting this error message, it only happens when at home, and if this error occurs with firefox then Interned Explorer also stops working with this site. What is going on? Ive googled this error extensively however every solution Ive found is either outdated(like from 2007) or is something I am already doing with no effect.

I have encountered this problem on several occasions, and doing either one of the following resolved it.

Solution A 1. Clear your browser cache and history. 2: Go to My Computer and C:-->Windows-->System32-->Drivers-->etc folder. 3: In this folder, look for a file named "Hosts" 4: Copy this folder in case you need to restore it later. You can name the copy "Hosts.bak" or whatever you prefer. 5: After you've created a backup. Right click on the original "Hosts" file and open it with Notepad (any text editor will do). 6: Now delete all the lines of IP addresses in the text document except for "127.0.0.1 localhost". 7: Save the file and close it.


Solution B 1. Clear your browser cache and history. 2. Open the Command Prompt. 3. Type: ipconfig /release 4. Type: ipconfig /renew and wait for your system to reconnect to the network and the Internet.

Ok, not to be a jerk, but 4 months on a respond time? Really?

I had forgotten about this, but the issue is NOT with the cashe, both of the solutions you posted are ones I have used, and the only soluton I have been able to find is the following:

Step 1: Clear History and Cashe Step 2: Uninstall Firefox(the issue is the Firefox's authentication certificate extention). Step 3: Restart Computer. Step 4: Restart Router while Computer is restarting. Step 5: Try Internet Explorer, the issue should be fixed. Step 6(optional, but Highly recomended): Download and install Google Chrome, it's authentication certificate extention is more widly accepted than either FF or IE, and not as easily corrupted/altered.

The only, ONLY times this error has occured since I made the above changes/fixes, is when my firewall failed and I got some malware on my computer, but a quick anti-virus run followed by a restart solves the problem.
