How do I tell firefox's tab key not to go to links, only form fields. That is, if you go to https://visca.com/apac/dites/, hitting 'tab' should take you to the form field [Cerca], whereas now it scrolls through all the links first.

Thanks in advance, Lou

Hi Lou, having Tab visit links facilitates pure keyboard navigation, but if you don't plan to activate links using the keyboard, you can change this behavior using a setting hidden under the covers:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste accessibility.tabfocus and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the preference to display an editing field, and change the value to 3 then press Enter or click the blue check mark button to save the change.

For reference, the following values are recognized:

  • 1 => Only text fields in forms
  • 2 => Only non-text fields/controls in forms
  • 3 => All fields/controls in forms (combines 1+2)
  • 4 => Only links
  • 5 => Text fields in forms plus links (combines 1+4)
  • 6 => Non-text fields/controls in forms plus links (combines 2+4)
  • 7 => All fields/controls in forms plus links (combines 3+4) [default on Windows]

Does that work for you?

Thank-you, jscher2000. This solved my problem. However, when I clicked the "Mark it as solved" link in the email I got, I got a "This page doesn't exist" message.
